Flashback 2012: The other interviews

dynamic_mic1As was mentioned in the previous Flashback 2012 article, Ringbelles was created as a host for our flagship Women Of Wrestling Podcasts, which offers thorough insights into wrestlers, their pasts and what they’re up to at the moment. They’re also quite lengthy – with the longest going for close to two hours. With that in mind, we made the decision to offer other interview segments on the website – ones which were shorter, and dealt with current news rather than being a career retrospective. For that reason, Fight Like A Girl was born back in May last year, with Faith Lehaine being the first guest. However, the show really gained a life of its own in 2012, and also saw it joined by another interview segment – but we’ll get to that. Firstly, let’s have a look at who gave us some of their time over the last 12 months for Fight Like A Girl… (more…)

My Name Is… Amazing Maria

Amazing Maria‘s catchphrase is “winning is the only thing”, but at this moment, she is getting over being defeated by past My Name Is guest Aleida Ortiz, and lost her United Wrestling Federation Vixens Championship in the process – so in retrospect, bringing that up at the start of the interview may not have been the best idea.

However, once we get past that, Maria talks to us about how she got into wrestling a lot later than others (as well as how she says she debuted twice), how she was encouraged to give it a shot by her daughter (as well as how it helps with mother/daughter time), how she balances family life with wrestling most weekends, and garnering a lot of knowledge from Mickie Knuckles. She also discusses whether she prefers TNA‘s Knockouts or WWE‘s Divas, as well as the busy weekend that she has coming up. Learn about Maria in what she says is only her second ever interview since getting into wrestling.
