This Saturday sees Women Superstars Uncensored present two DVD tapings at its home at Union City, NJ. Among the matches announced – which includes Jessicka Havok v Alicia in a Last Woman Standing match, Spirit Champion Sassy Stephie defending against Amber and Amy Lee taking on Brittney Savage in an Uncensored Rules affair – the big one will see WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez defend her title against Lexxus.

The cocky – and undefeated – Tag Team Champion earned the shot after winning the Uncensored Rumble back on June 25, and we covered Lexxus’ career up until this point in the following Tuesday’s edition of the Roundup. Since then, time has rolled around to the point where the match will now take place.

Questions have been asked about whether Mercedes is taking her opponent too lightly, especially considering the champion recently ventured over to Japan to wrestle Nanae Takahashi as part of the Queen of Stardom title tournament (a match that you can see right here). There’s now rumblings that Lexxus could sneak in the back door and catch Martinez when her guard is somewhat down, claiming the World Title and becoming a double champion in the process.

This won’t be the first singles title that Lexxus will have won, should she be victorious on Saturday. Back in 2007, she claimed the World Women’s Wrestling title by winning a four way contest involving her against Tanya Lee, Natalia and Jana on August 12. She lost it on March 9, 2008 to Ariel at the WWW 2nd Anniversary Show with her belt and the challenger’s career on the line. That was the match where Ariel turned heel and unveiled her new manager Brandon Michael Thomas, who has been posing as Lexxus’ crazed fan to divert her attention from the task at hand.

The pair would feud for some time afterwards, which brings us to this week’s Retro – a mixed tag team match from April 17, 2009 in New England Championship Wrestling featuring Ariel and BMT against Alexxis Neveah (following the name change caused by a dispute with Toyota) and her partner Kris Pyro. Enjoy.
