Bellatrix 6 results – Erin Angel wins the British Championship (updated with photos & thoughts)

Bellatrix logoTwenty of Europe’s top female wrestlers compete on this evening’s Bellatrix 6 card, with two title matches and a slew of original matchups. Bellatrix British Champion Rhia O’Reilly and RQW European Women’s Champion Liberty put their belts on the line against Erin Angel and Shanna respectively. Angel’s challenge to O’Reilly was one of the topics we covered with her as part of the most recent Women Of Wrestling Podcast, as well as discussions on her recent trip to Canada, beibg one of the continent’s most experienced female talents and her future goals.

Elsewhere on the nine match card, Saraya Knight faces Carmel Jacob, Penelope tackles Alpha Female, and Miss Mina wrestles Nikki Storm. You can read more about the card here and also read a further preview by clicking this link.

In addition, the promotion has received a great deal of external coverage in the local print and broadcast media, as well as on podcasts and elsewhere online, including the announcement that Bellatrix 7 will see Bellatrix stars taking on visiting stars from SHIMMER. The early indications suggest that this will be among the healthiest audience numbers for a Bellatrix show, so expect a lively crowd if you are watching on iPPV, and you can order the show (which starts at 6.30pm BST) by clicking here.

Bellatrix 6 card – plenty of first-time matches

Bellatrix 6 Liberty Shanna

Until today, the only match which we knew was going to be taking place at Bellatrix 6 on June 23 was Rhia O’Reilly defending the British Championship against Erin Angel – a match which is likely to deliver, especially since they have tangled twice in the past month with each claiming a victory over the other. However, the promotion has now revealed what its big roster featuring a lot of debuting women will be up to on the show, and there are quite a few first-time encounters on the card… (more…)

Bellatrix 6 roster revealed, many new additions

Bellatrix 6 rosterIt’s been a pretty Euro-centric sort of week here at Ringbelles, so we may as well continue in that ethos…

The roster for the Bellatrix 6 iPPV on June 23 has been revealed, with a lot of new names featuring in the lineup. Nine European nations are represented on the show, with women from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Norway, Finland, France, Italy, Germany and Portgual being represented. Other roster members returning are Italian Queen Maya, Northern Ireland’s Rhia O’Reilly and Norway’s Miss Mina, as well as Finn Aurora Flame and France’s X-Cute Sweet, who have both been absent since Bellatrix 2 11 months ago.

There is also an influx of Scottish talent heading to Norwich. Nikki Storm, Carmel Jacob, Bete Noire and Kay Lee Ray all make their debuts, while Viper makes her first appearance in the promotion since teaming with Destiny at WAWW The Return in November 2011. My Name Is… Violet O’Hara

Violet O'Hara

She may be small in stature, but Violet O’Hara has some BIG plans. After getting into wrestling through some fairly unique circumstances, the Pocket Princess of Wrestling has spent the last year and a half facing some large challenges and accumulating some great experience along the way.

As part of her My Name Is interview, O’Hara talks about wrestling on iPPV with Bellatrix 5, taking on Saraya Knight, having to encourage guys to hit her properly and whether her size bothers her. And as for that size, she goes into detail on how tall she is, and the number isn’t very big!

In Video: Build up to Bellatrix 5

Liberty Queen Maya Bellatrix

Yesterday, six matches were announced for March 24th’s Bellatrix 5 show in Norwich, England – the first show since the name changeover from the World Association of Women’s Wrestling to Bellatrix, something which was explained by Destiny in our interview with her at the end of last year.

The biggest match announced so far is a return contest from last November’s Bellatrix 4 with RQW European Women’s Champion Queen Maya taking on Liberty in an encounter that was cut short because of a broken arm suffered by the tall Italian. This contest is billed as non-title, but a victory by Liberty could propel her to a title shot in the future.

However, the revelations continue – as well as the aforementioned rematch, Bellatrix 5 features debuts and returns – such as Amy Lee making her first appearance in a Bellatrix event since the original one last March where she face Miss Mina, who is now fully recovered from the ankle injury she suffered last November. Speaking of returns, the creepy Phobia – who hasn’t been about since Bellatrix 2 – will be seen again on March 24, standing across the ring from rookie Chanel, who is going in the right direction in terms of progression.

So that’s the returns taken care of – how about the debuts? (more…)

WAWW Bellatrix 4 results (updated with thoughts and photo gallery)

This bumper season of women’s wrestling continues in Norwich, England this evening with the free show presented by the World Association of Women’s Wrestling, entitled Bellatrix 4.

We revealed some of the matches in our post yesterday, where it was announced that the evening would see a team captained by WAWW British Champion Rhia O’Reilly against a squad led by RQW European Women’s Champion Queen Maya, with the whole event being capped off with a ten woman elimination match.

Already announced to be taking place are Maya v Liberty in a match where the European Title is not on the line, while O’Reilly also faces a non-title affair against high-flying star Erin Angel. The other contest we are looking forward to is Norway’s Miss Mina meeting the increasingly impressive Penelope, who – like Angel – is becoming increasingly more of a flier as she gains more ring time.

Destiny, Violet O’Hara, Skarlett and Chanel are also booked to appear, so click the jump and keep up with results from Bellatrix 4 as they happen.

WAWW Bellatrix 2 results (now updated with thoughts and photos)

A bumper weekend of women’s wrestling continues in Costessey, England this afternoon, as the World Association of Women’s Wrestling presents Bellatrix 2, featuring grapplers from across Europe.

As discussed last week when the card was announced, topping the bill will be the Italian giant and reigning RQW European Champion Queen Maya defending the belt against former Nordic Women’s Wrestling Alliance Champion Aurora Flame from Finland. Maya has held the title since last November, and faces a stiff challenge from Flame, who has been wrestling for close to 5 years.

Elsewhere on the card, reigning SHIMMER Champion Sweet Saraya challenges British Champion Liberty for the title, Ireland’s Rhia O’Reilly takes on Norway’s Miss Mina and Germany’s Lady Lory meets British star Skarlett. Making their debuts in WAWW will be French wrestlers Eloanne & X-Cute Sweet, as well as a the masked newcomer Phobia. Click after the jump for all the results as they happen. (more…)

Queen Maya vs Aurora Flame headlines WAWW Bellatrix 2; Liberty vs Saraya Knight also announced

We’ve just received word of the first matches to be confirmed for the World Association of Women’s Wrestling show on Sunday, June 17th. Entitled “Bellatrix 2″, the event will be headlined by a match for the RQW European Title as Queen Maya defends her title against Finland’s Aurora Flame, who comes to us from the FCF promotion. Queen Maya has been really establishing herself as a dominant force across the rings of Europe since picking up the RQW belt at WAWW’s “The Return”, and this will be a stern test against the well travelled and experienced Aurora Flame.

Also in title action, the WAWW British Ladies Championship match will be up for grabs as title holder Liberty defends against none other than Saraya Knight, the current SHIMMER Champion. At the age of 18, but already with over two years of experience, Liberty has become the one to watch in the rings of WAWW. From winning the British Ladies Championship at “The Return” last November from the departing Britani Knight (thanks, it must be said, to a helping hand… err.. fist from Allison Danger) to successfully defending the title against her former tag team partner Amy-Lee at the first Bellatrix show in March, a case could certainly be made that Liberty has had match of the night honours on both WAWW shows so far. Liberty has followed almost the exact same career trajectory as the former Britani Knight (now Paige in FCW) by tagging early in her career with her best friend (for Knight it was fellow Norfolk Doll Melodi, and with Liberty it was with Amy-Lee), excelling as a singles wrestler, abandoning the fans and winning the British Championship. In fact, if anything, Liberty has reached the championship heights even faster than Britani did – but there is absolutely no doubt that this match represents Liberty’s biggest challenge to date. WAWW Bellatrix results (now updated with live observations)

The World Association of Women’s Wrestling returns today with the second show since its return, entitled Bellatrix, though its big money matchup for the show in Norwich, England has had to be scrapped.

Former Women Superstars Uncensored Champion Mercedes Martinez was unable to gain access to the United Kingdom on Thursday, meaning that her scheduled match against fellow hard-hitter Amazon will not take place. Instead, a four woman tournament has been announced to determine a number on contender to the British Championship, currently held by Liberty – though she defends against Amy Lee Kramer today. That tournament will consist of Amazon, rookie Penelope, the 4’9” Violet O’Hara & Rhia O’Reilly, fresh from her travels to the US and Canada for SHIMMER and NCW: Femmes Fatales.

Speaking of SHIMMER, its current titleholder Sweet Saraya teams up with Extreme World Wrestling Women’s Champion Skarlett against veteran Busty Keegan and WAW stalwart Destiny.

The RQW European Championship is also on the line as titleholder Queen Maya – who was defeated by Saraya at last night’s WAW show – puts the belt on the line against Jewel from Norway.

Ringbelles is on hand to offer results as the happen, so click after the jump and keep hitting refresh to get the latest updates. (more…)
