Happy Thanksgiving to our American visitors – we hope you have all had a relaxing and wholesome day.
And now, women fighting each other.
On August 8, 2010, Alexxis Nevaeh began an unprecedented third reign as World Women’s Wrestling Champion. She defeated Mistress Belmont to lift the title, getting a measure of revenge after Belmont had beaten her for the belt on March 20 that year. On November 9 of this year, Nevaeh’s 1,208 day reign as champion came to an end with Belmont winning her second WWW title on New England Championship Wrestling‘s card in Beverly, MA.
Between the pair, they have held the WWW Championship for the last 1,592 days, with the last person other than them to wear the belt being Ariel, who dropped the belt to Belmont on August 8, 2009. As you can imagine, this has been a long feud and they have fought many times. After the jump is the match which saw Alexxis’ mammoth reign come to an end. Have a watch while you wait to make room for pumpkin pie… (more…)
Have you listened to the latest Women Of Wrestling Podcast with Taeler Hendrix yet? Without hyperbole, it is one of our favourite shows in a long time. Interesting, insightful and revealing, the former TNA Knockout talks about how she had no idea what the result of her Gut Check would be or that Joey Ryan was going to gatecrash the segment, was told very little about what her future in the promotion would be or that they were planning to release her.
She also reveals that she wasn’t fully open with them either, as the reason why she put on the weight in-between appearances was to keep herself healthy to fight off the possibility of cancer, and because she was suffering pain when she wrestled as she had no padding on her body when she was bumping. That weight issue is something that I discussed with recovering anorexic and former gymnast Sarah Robertson, and she practically said the same thing.
Taeler also discussed her time in Ohio Valley Wrestling, how she was disappointed with her start in the promotion despite winning the Women’s Championship, and how an instinctive “wrong” move saw her fortunes turn around. She also revealed her intentions to release a book, form a tag team with distant relative Cherry Bomb – all is revealed in the interview – and wrestle in as many places as possible. Instead of moping, shaking her fist at the world or complaining that she’s the victim of a conspiracy theory, she dusted herself off, made a plan and is executing it. (more…)
Kasey Ray really lucked out when Luscious Latasha decided to move from Massachusetts to Florida. Latasha relocated in the middle of a programme involving she and Mistress Belmont in New England Championship Wrestling. At the time, Belmont and Latasha’s hostilities were seeing either one – or both – of them being disqualified, with Belmont also starting to receive gifts of violence which she would use on her opponent.
The storyline seems to have continued in 2013, with Kasey replacing Latasha as the babyface in the feud. Belmost is still receiving gifts and showing no respect for authority, while Ray is the valiant fan favourite who is doing her utmost to stop her.
Their latest match was the main contest of NECW’s latest episode, with gifts of weapons banned from ringside, and gives us a great opportunity to get a look at Kasey Ray. Click after the jump to see her in action against Mistress Belmont. (more…)

Former TNA and WWE star Trinity has been filling in her fans as to what she has been up to since stepping away from the ring in 2007 as part of her interview in the latest issue of HONOUR. She also looks at some of her memorable moments as part of a Knockout and also as an ECW Vixen when WWE relaunched the promotion in 2006.
Another interview sees Hannah and Holly Blossom answer questions about working in Ohio Valley Wrestling and Pro Wrestling: EVE, as well as what their future may hold.
Elsewhere, there are looks at Cherry Bomb, Mistress Belmont, the resurgence of Jazz, the downfall of the Knockouts Tag Team Titles, female managers and a second blog by CHIKARA‘s Veronica.

The World Women’s Wrestling Championship has a longer history than both the SHIMMER and Women Superstars Uncensored Championships, and boasts a champion who is pushing two years with the belt – albeit with one of those years didn’t feature any defences as the parent company, New England Championship Wrestling, was inactive. Its current titleholder is Alexxis Nevaeh, AKA former WSU Tag Team Champion Lexxus, who won the title in the match that we bring to you today.
This is Alexxis’ third reign as WWW Champion. The first reign began after she won a four-way in August 2007, but ended at WWW’s 2nd Anniversary show the following March at the hands of Ariel, who turned heel in the process. To regain the belt, Nevaeh had to defeat 10 top WWW stars to get the shot, which she successfully did, and won back the title in March 2009.
He second run with the championship was cut short by Mistress Belmont, who took the WWW title for her first reign in March 2010, with the feud between the two escalating to the point that they had to settle their differences inside a steel cage in Quincy, MA on August 8 of that year. Click after the jump to see a hard-hitting cage affair with a pre-match brawl, chairs, blood, and crazy bumps… (more…)
Thanks to Dirty Dirty Sheets for the live tweets, which we have now managed to flesh out with details from the show.
Missy defeated Xandra Bale in the pre-show match with a Flatliner.
Anna Minoushka (accompanied by Madamoiselle Rachelle) beat Sweet Cherrie by a Cobra Clutch submission. While the referee was distracted, La Parfaite Caroline interfered and attacked Sweet Cherrie’s back, giving Minouskha the opening to get the submission win. After the match, Caroline promised she’d do the same thing to LuFisto that she just did to Sweet Cherrie.
Sherbrooke Connexion (Loue & Kira) beat Anastasia Ivy & Angie Skye when Loue pinned Anastasia with a top rope cross body.
Brittney Savage defeated Cherry Bomb in a quick match with the assistance of a handful of tights.
