The Big News

“The true definition of madness is repeating the same action, over and over, hoping for a different result.”

Without even the slightest hint of irony, Jeff Jarrett used that quote from Albert Einstein on his Twitter. For anyone who may not understand the hilarity based on current events, let’s go back in time:

Last October, Jersey Shore star J-Woww did a one-shot deal for TNA which actually clashed with a new Jersey Shore episode when it was aired, garnered little media attention and cost thousands of dollars. Having not learned their lesson, TMZ reported this last Thursday:

“Former Jersey Shore castmate Angelina Pivarnick is officially returning to TV next month … but there’s also good news — she’ll be in a wrestling ring! So… she could catch a beating and stuff. Sources close to Angelina tells us after a month of negotiations she finally signed a contract with TNA Wrestling earlier this week.
We’re told the “Staten Island Dump” will make her debut in a tag team match involving TNA’s Snooki-a-like… Cookie.”

Removing the element of surprise about her two week appearance, TNA even described that Pivarnick will call out J-Woww on this week’s live episode of Impact for a fight. At least we know what we’ll be missing while we fast-forward it. (more…)

Pro Wrestling: EVE title tourney brackets revealed

The first round features six matches – five of them are four way contests with the sixth being a battle royal involving the 15 women who do not win, giving them a second chance at making it through to round 2. From there, we enter into three quarter-final contests, then two semi-finals (one of which we already know involves Jetta) – and a final. (more…)

Manami Toyota, lauded as being one of, if not THE best women’s wrestler to have ever lived, is slated to participate in what’s described as the biggest tournament in pro-wrestling – CHIKARA’s King Of Trios.

The following day in Brooklyn, New York, Toyota and Mike Quackenbush defeated the Bruderschaft des Kreuzes (Claudio Castagnoli and Sara Del Rey) in a tag team match.

Manami – who will be 40 when the event takes place – will team with current Campeones de Parejas (Tag Team Champions) Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw in the 16 team, three night tournament. Other teams announced for King Of Trios include F.I.S.T., the Colony, the Throwbacks and the Osirian Portal.

King Of Trios takes place at the Asylum Arena in Philadelphia, PA on the weekend of April 15-17. (more…)
