It’s an intergender kind of day at Women Superstars Uncensored today, who run their annual intergender tag team tournament (renamed this year to Queen and King of the Ring rather than the other way around) alongside Combat Zone Wrestling as part of a double header – and after eschewing iPPV for the first couple of shows under the new management, this is the first new era WSU show available live worldwide, through RFVideo.
On top of the eight team tournament, we have non tourney action featuring members of the Midwest Militia – both in non-title action – with Tag Champs Allysin Kay & Sassy Stephie facing Spirit Champion Marti Belle and Lexxus, and reigning WSU World Champion Jessicka Havok taking on “The Callihan Death Machine” Sami Callihan. Havok was apparently given carte blanche to pick her opponent for the match, following the withdrawal of LuFisto – who is currently out with injury. If you haven’t had a chance to listen, LuFisto addresses her current situation exclusively with us on the Women of Wrestling Podcast, and issued a promo directed at Jessicka Havok this week, which you can view on YouTube. You can still order the show at CZWIPPV.com, but we’ll have live results after the cut. (more…)

Women Superstars Uncensored was presented with a problem in its preparation for May 11′s Queen and King of the Ring iPPV. Its title match between WSU Champion Jessicka Havok and LuFisto – which came about after Havok defeated Athena and LuFisto beat Mercedes Martinez at An Ultraviolent Affair on February 9 – had to be scrapped due to the Super Hardcore Anime requiring surgery for a fractured kneecap, suffered during the SHIMMER Volume 53 iPPV on April 6.
With most of the roster tied up in the mixed tag team tournament, the promotion decided to get creative with an opponent for Havok, so WSU released a video with the titleholder throwing down a challenge based on what happened at the Combat Zone Wrestling show on the evening following An Ultraviolent Affair, and she wanted to take on LuFisto’s opponent in the mixed tag team match which took place.
Havok and Sami Callihan had an exchange or two in the match, and that wasn’t forgotten by the WSU Champion. In the video released last week, Havok lamented WSU for not finding her a challenger, then got proactive by calling out CZW’s Best of the Best XI tournament winner, though it would be six days of tentative waiting before the challenge was accepted, meaning that next Saturday in Voorhees, NJ, Jessicka Havok will take on Sami Callihan in a non-title, interpromotional, intergender affair. After the events of yesterday, SHIMMER returns for its DVD tapings for volumes 56 and 57.
Expected to continue on from yesterday’s tapings include the quest by the Global Green Gangsters to secure another Tag Team Title shot at the Canadian Ninjas; Saraya Knight‘s reign of terror is being curbed by the officials; meanwhile, Jessicka Havok wants to leave more bodies in her wake, and Cheerleader Melissa is looking to retain the SHIMMER Championship. Also, these tapings mark the final matches for Allison Danger, who retires from the ring on volume 57.
As with yesterday, we will bring you results after the jump, along with pictures on thoughts on the show in due course. For now, click into the results and enjoy. (more…)

2. Christina Von Eerie pinned Kimber Lee (w/ Annie Social) with a straight-jacket lungblower.

Women Superstars Uncensored returns today with their first show since October’s “Full Steam Ahead” with their debut in a new area, as part of a CZW double header in Voorhees, NJ. Unfortunately, due to the major snowstorms in the North East, the show appears to have been decimated due to talent being unable to get to the venue, resulting in a hastily re-jigged show. Weather related issues have stopped the WSU Tag Team Champions Allysin Kay & Sassy Stephie making the show, along with Marti Belle, Tina San Antonio, Lexxus & Nikki Addams. It’s not the first time a WSU card has been weather-afflicted, as last year’s joint show with PWS in New Jersey was also heavily affected.
However, the show must go on – and with the main event of Jessicka Havok defending her WSU Title against Athena still intact, as well as the potentially show-stealing semi main of Mercedes Martinez vs LuFisto in a Falls Count Anywhere match, there’s still a lot of potential in this show. Click through after the page break for coverage. (more…)

On Sunday, I sat among 400 people in a hall in a small city in the west of England. The only reason why I had decided to go – well, apart from it being a 15 minute walk from my front door – was that it featured a women’s match that was pretty hyped up about. Unfortunately, the billed contest between Kay Lee Ray and Shanna had to be scrapped because of KLR suffering a broken toe two days previous, then wrestling for about 40 minutes on it the previous day – though as it turns out, her metatarsal had been broken for about a month, which was compounded by the broken toe. As a result, a suitable replacement was brought in to replace Ray, and it would more than compensate.
The fans at Alternative Wrestling World in Wolverhampton had no idea who Emi Sakura was. To them, she was a Japanese woman who wears a lot of fabric, doesn’t show much skin and visually, didn’t look like much to write home about. Around me, I heard some borderline racist jokes about the “Chinese” woman in the ring and some unfunny gags about ordering Chinese cuisine in a mocking Far Asian accent. Her opponent also got the heckles, with a guy yelling “get your tits out” to Portugal’s Perfect Athlete – as if that line has EVER worked. Needless to say, we were dealing with an audience with spectacularly low expectations for the contest, and more than their fair share of xenophobia and ignorance. I’m stunned that I didn’t see anyone get up to go to the bar or toilets. They would have regretted it if they had, as little did they know, but they were going to be treated to a showcase featuring one of Europe’s best against one of the best in the world… (more…)

The day after SHINE 5 entered the history books back in November, a number of the roster stayed on in Florida to be part of a card for Florida Underground Wrestling as part of a new working relationship between the two promotions. It meant that around half of the card featured women’s matches, headlined with Made In Sin (Allysin Kay and Taylor Made) meeting Rhythm and Bruise (Jazz and Amazing Kong) in tag team action.
On the undercard, Heidi Lovelace faced fellow Ohio Valley Wrestling regular Sojo Bolt (Josette Bynum), Nikki Roxx took on Niya, Santana Garrett wrestled Sassy Stephie, and Marti Belle tangled with Leva Bates. All of the matches are after the jump, so click away and enjoy the five matches in their entirety. It’s a great opportunity to see Made In Sin, as the only chances to see Allysin and Taylor as a team so far have been on SHINE – which you have to pay to see – or at SHIMMER, which have not been released on DVD yet. Their schtick is a riot, so stick your pinkies up and get on board. (more…)

As we said at the time, Pro Wrestling Syndicate‘s Bombshell Ladies Of Wrestling did not enjoy an easy birth. However, with its third show announced for February 9 in Metuchen, NJ, it seems to be finding its feet – and is headlined with Amazing Kong taking on Amy Lee, as well as the tournament semi finals.
The first show saw the first round matches take place on the 8 match card, with Christina Von Eerie meeting Cherry Bomb in the main event. Also on the show, RQW European Women’s Champion Queen Maya made her US debut against Sumie Sakai, and Annie Social fought Alexxis Nevaeh.
The card was meant to be broadcast on iPPV, but PWS decided to dump that idea when it decided that it wasn’t happy with the quality of the stream. However, the show from October 11 in Rahway, NJ was recorded – and now it has been edited and posted online for everyone to see ahead of February 9. If you want spoilers, the results are right here, but if you want to watch the matches without knowing the results, click the jump and enjoy. (more…)

SHINE Wrestling headlines its SHINE 5 show with the worldwide return of the former Kharma in her first match since January, with Amazing Kong teaming up with Jazz as Rhythm and Bruise to take on the tandem of Rain and Mercedes Martinez.
It’s the main event of a pretty stacked card in Ybor City, FL, with another of the mouth-watering outings being Jessicka Havok facing Nikki Roxx in a rematch of the Women Superstars Uncensored contest which helped to put Havok on the path to the top, while Kimberly looks to end her run of losses by teaming with Leva Bates against Made In Sin – Allysin Kay and Taylor Made – video of which you can see in this month’s SHINE Scouting Report.

With no show scheduled for December, and Shine 6 already confirmed for January, Shine signs off on 2012 with what appears to be a pretty stacked card topped with an outstanding return, as Amazing Kong returns to the wrestling ring for the first time since the Royal Rumble in January. Kong teams with Jazz in a tag main event vs Mercedes Martinez & Rain. Also on the show, an increasingly desperate Kimberly turns to Leva Bates to help her 0-4 record, and Jessicka Havok & Nikki Roxx renew an old WSU rivalry. Apart from Kong, Shine 5 also brings debuts for 5 other stars, including another former WWE star…
Ivelisse Velez
Big debut for former Chicago area indy star Juliet The Huntress, and more recently Sofia Cortez on WWE’s NXT brand … Competed in last year’s WWE Tough Enough under her given name and impressed with her determination before being eliminated on week 6 due to injury … Signed a developmental deal anyway and went on to become one of FCW/NXT’s most promising Divas, often teaming with Paige … Was released from her WWE deal in August 2012 to many people’s surprise … Has had a dark match tryout with TNA last month, losing to Tara … SHINE 5 will be her first match since the WWE release.

Thursday seems to be a peculiar day to launch a new promotion, but that is what happened this week when Bombshell Ladies Of Wrestling made its debut in Rahway, NJ. Promising a tournament to crown its first champion, sixteen women would be paired down to 8 on the first show, with the next rounds taking place on subsequent shows. However, the birth of Pro Wrestling Syndicate‘s all-women offshoot division has been anything but a smooth one – in fact, this one could be described as breached…
Firstly, there is the abbreviation of the promotion’s name, which put off some wrestlers. Angelina Love was approached to appear on the show, but declined due to the acronym being BLOW. Others – both wrestlers and fans – have been critical of the overly smutty nature of the name, though as Annie Social discussed with us earlier this week, it was thought up as a tongue in cheek, less serious approach to wrestling – and as PWS themselves have pointed out, nobody complains about a promotion on TV with the initials TNA. Women Superstars Uncensored has been rearranging furniture since being taken over by Beyond Wrestling following the Uncensored Rumble V iPPV back in June.
At the time, we gave our initial impressions of the acquisition, and also spoke to new owner Drew Cordiero as part of episode 42 of the Women Of Wrestling Podcast – and left feeling impressed with the direction being taken, especially since we had issues in the past with small attendance numbers and poor production of the iPPVs. Next month, WSU returns to Deer Park, NY for its first card under the Beyond Wrestling umbrella as part of three events over the span of one day – with one of those being an interpromotional show, followed by the comeback WSU event, entitled Full Steam Ahead. As we discussed in this week’s Roundup, it’s the end of an era for Women Superstars Uncensored, as the ownership changes hands tonight, with the new owners being announced during the iPPV being shown on Go Fight Live. The main event match pits WSU Champion Jessicka Havok defending the title against Mercedes Martinez in a Casket Match (an image of which you can see to your left), with other matches at the top of the card being Sassy Stephie v Brittney Savage in an Uncensored Rules match, Lexxus taking on Alicia, and Allysin Kay meeting newcomer Terra Calaway.
Elsewhere, the WSU and nCw: Femmes Fatales relationship kicks off with Kalamity defending the International Championship against Sweet Cherrie, and LuFisto wrestling Leva Bates. At the start of next month, the roles are reversed, as the Midwest Militia of Havok, Kay and Stephie travel to Montreal to face Courtney Rush and two undetermined partners.
The other big encounter tonight is the Uncensored Rumble itself, with the winner becoming the number one contender to the WSU title. Lee’s pick to win was Rain, but she has had to miss show due to illness, so with that prediction out of the window, we will be watching like everyone else to see who emerges as the victor.
We will be adding results as they happen here on the site, so click after the jump and keep refreshing to keep up with all the goings on.

While we updated last night’s Women Superstars Uncensored double DVD tapings (click here for results) featuring the J-Cup and Jessicka Havok v Mercedes Martinez, among others, our Twitter and Facebook accounts were flooded with comments about the booking. Messages we received included terms such as ‘confused’, ‘silly’, ‘pointless’ and ‘ridiculous’. Because of these references, as well as the official release from WSU, we felt there was enough to dive into the debate and release a few feelings of our own.
First though, a recap…
• Brittney Savage won the J-Cup for the second year running, defeating Ezavel Suena, Annie Social and Athena to take the tournament and earn a WSU Championship match on the subsequent DVD taping.
• Allysin Kay and Sassy Stephie held onto the Tag Team Championship by defeating the team that they beat to win the belts in the first place, Jana and Luscious Latasha.
• Tina San Antonio defeated Marti Belle in an Uncensored Rules match after bleeding all over the place following being hit in the head with a bottle.
• Martinez regained the WSU Championship by beating Havok, who lost the belt on her first defence. Havok’s foot was under the bottom rope, which caused her much anger when the result stood. The loss was also Havok’s first in singles competition in the promotion.
• Havok destroyed Marti Belle to retain the Spirit Championship.
• Queen of the Ring Jennifer Cruz beat Jana to remain undefeated in 2012.
• Alicia defeated Allysin Kay, causing another blip in the Midwest Militia‘s dominance.
• After defeating Athena, Rain promised to retire if she could not win the Uncensored Rumble on June 16. Earlier in the show, Lexxus promised to win the Rumble for the second straight year.
• Savage v Martinez for the WSU Title became a triple threat when Havok invoked her rematch clause and won the belt by pinning Martinez after Savage nailed the titleholder with a diamond cutter, but was thwarted by Stephie.
So they are the talking points – after the jump, we’ll look at who has benefited and who has suffered… (more…)

Jennifer Cruz‘s push up the Women Superstars Uncensored ranks continues after she and partner Mike Dennis won the King and Queen of the Ring tournament in collaboration with National Wrestling Superstars in Dunnellen, NJ, defeating Johnny Knockout & Jana in the final. The win also means that Cruz remains undefeated in WSU competition, and could see her surge toward a title opportunity.
Also on the card, Jessicka Havok‘s first WSU contest since winning the promotion’s top championship saw her successfully defend the Spirit Championship against Marti Belle, which also served to forward the ongoing feud between Belle and former tag team championship partner Tina San Antonio, while Havok’s Midwest Militia teammates Allysin Kay & Sassy Stephie held onto the Tag Team Titles by defeating Alicia and Brittney Savage.

On the eve of Absolute Intense Wrestling’s sixth edition of Girls Night Out, we cast our review net back a couple of months to the night the Mia Yim vs Allysin Kay rivalry (much like Kay’s nose…) exploded.
Results
1. Marti Belle bt Mia Yim via pinfall (Double Underhook Facebuster)
2. KC bt Lucious Latasha via submission (Cattle Mutilation)
3. Crazy Mary Dobson bt Miss Heidi via pinfall (Moonsault)
4. Gabby Gilbert bt Angel Dust via submission (Crossface)
5. Veda Scott bt Kimber Lee via pinfall (DDT)
6. Mia Yim bt Allysin Kay via pinfall (Corkscrew Moonsault) — Yim becomes #1 contender to AIW Women’s Championship
7. AIW Women’s Championship: Mickie Knuckles (c) bt Sara Del Rey via pinfall (Pump-Handle Powerbomb)
Facts
• Before the show there’s a three match “Guys Night Out” undercard with three matches.
• Cherry Bomb didn’t make it across the border for the show (she was originally scheduled to be taking on Allysin Kay), meaning Mia Yim pulled double duty. This was worked into storyline with the implication that Kay had “called the border” to rat out Cherry Bomb.
• Yim was accompanied by AIW’s “Flexor Industries” – at least for the first match. After losing to Marti Belle, Yim was slapped by fellow Flexor Industries member Allysin Kay, setting up a match between the two in the semi main event spot.
• Who is Luscious Latasha? Check out Lee’s “My Name Is” interview with her on this very site.
• Crazy Mary Dobson is a Mad Man Pondo product. Never seen her before, nor Miss Heidi. More on those two below.
• Gabby Gilbert (as in the newly renamed Roxie Cotton) “debuted” on Girls Night Out 4, turning on Portia Perez. No Perez on this show for revenge, sadly.
• The Mia Yim vs Allysin Kay match featured the now infamous nose breaking incident, when Yim broke Kay’s nose with a kick outside the ring.
• This was the first meeting between Mickie Knuckles & Sara Del Rey since the match in which Mickie broke her leg in 2008 in IWA-MS, which ultimately cost Knuckles her TNA deal. (more…)

Three and a half years after breaking her leg in a match in IWA: Mid South, Mickie Knuckles put that unfinished chapter in her life to bed by defeating her opponent in that match, Sara Del Rey, tonight at Absolute Intense Wrestling’s Girls Night Out 5, successfully retaining her AIW Women’s Championship in the process.
The broken leg was brought up in the match as Del Rey attacked the champion with kicks, before turning her attention to Knuckles’ arm in order to break that. However, Mickie fought back, avoided Sara’s third Capo Kick and nailed the challenger with a powerbomb to get the winning pinfall. The win is another feather in the cap of Knuckles, who is enjoying a renaissance in her career since leaving IWA:MS, spreading her wings and gaining new plaudits and accolades in wrestling promotions all over the US.
Elsewhere on the card, despite losing the opening match on the card to Marti Belle, Mia Yim became the number one contender to the championship by beating and bloodying Allysin Kay (Cherry Bomb didn’t make it to the show), rookie Veda Scott (who has just a year of ring time under her houndstooth belt) continued to impress fans, and Gabby Gilbert followed up her sneak attack on Portia Perez at GNO4 by using underhanded tactics again to defeat former champion Angel Dust.
Thanks to David Muscarella for the results, which you can read by clicking after the jump, as well as taking a look at what Allysin Kay looked like after her match: (more…)

Women Superstars Uncensored‘s first matches of the year as part of a joint show with National Wrestling Superstars in Stirling, NJ fell victim to the harsh weather that the north east of the US is dealing with at the moment. Sub-zero temperatures, snowy conditions and icy roads meant that Luscious Latasha, Amber, Lexxus and Molly Holly didn’t make it, while Jillian Hall (who was meant to be wrestling Traci Brooks in the main event with Molly refereeing) was stranded in Atlanta, GA. That meant a big rewrite of the WSU matches…
The scheduled 10 woman tag team match became an 8 woman affair instead, with Jennifer Cruz (who was originally pitted to wrestle Mercedes Martinez before the match was cancelled due to the WSU Champion’s concussion) replacing Amber and Lexxus, while the other team was one down because of Latasha’s absence. Meanwhile, the main event was changed to a 6-woman tag with the Midwest Militia of Jessicka Havok, Sassy Stephie and Allysin Kay, as well as Brittney Savage and Alicia pulling double duty.
Despite the rewrite, our correspondent David Muscarella reports that the women’s matches outshone the men’s contests, so that is still a success for WSU. Click after the jump to see the results. (more…)

Twenty four hours removed from Women Superstars Uncensored‘s iPPV Breaking Barriers II and this writer is still at a loss for words. The show had it’s ups and downs as any show will, but when the ending of the War Games main event went down, it had me in shock and disbelief. The ending completely overshadowed the War Games match itself as well as the rest of the show. I’m going to attempt to write up a coherent report and put my thoughts and opinions into some sort of structure.
The first match was the Boston Shore (Amber and Lexxus) defending the WSU Tag Team Championships against the reunited International Home Wrecking Crew of Rain and Jetta. Back at WSU’s last DVD tapings in August, it was originally announced that Serena Deeb would be Rain’s partner since both women had had problems with the Shore. However, Serena pulled out of the match (which led to her being announced as Melina‘s opponent for Breaking Barriers II), leaving Rain without a partner. Not for long though – in a surprise twist, Rain brought Jetta out of retirement to take on the Shore. (more…)

Unlike its last few big-time offerings, which have been shown on iPPV before being released on DVD, this weekend’s Women Superstars Uncensored shows are going straight to the WSU shop. The promotion have two shows in Union City, NJ tonight, with the main matches being Mercedes Martinez defending the WSU World Title against Lexxus, and the increasingly-impressive Jessicka Havok taking on “The WSU Icon” Alicia in a No Holds Barred match.
After the jump, you’ll find all the results. Enjoy. (more…)

WSU: WTF?
