Jessie Belle wins the OVW Women’s Championship

According to Brian Cannon’s report at PWInsider, Jessie – who earned her number one contender spot by beating former champ Heidi Lovelace at OVW’s TV taping on December 5, and has been winding up Hendrix by not rising to any of the titleholder’s attempts to bait her into losing her cool – came to the ring dressed in Hendrix’s old gear and using her old babyface theme music, turning the psychological tables on her opponent.

The end came when Jessie had Taeler in a Boston Crab, causing her to tap out, but Hendrix’s boyfriend Dylan Bostic had the referee distracted so he could not see his main squeeze submitting. Breaking the hold, Jessie subsequently kissed Dylan, causing Taeler to charge at her enemy, only to run into Bostic, allowing the challenger to roll her up for the title-winning pinfall.

The title win is one of Jessie Belle’s highest profile victories to date, and puts her in a great position in a promotion which is high on TNA‘s radar. There’s no guarantee that it will lead to another level, but holding the title means more prominence, more TV time and more attention on what she is capable of. Given some strong programmes and matches, Jessie’s profile could be set to soar.

Incidentally, what now for Taeler Hendrix? With her three title reigns, covering both the babyface and heel sides, she has come very far since her debut in September 2011. She won a spot in TNA in June as part of the Gut Check, returned to the promotion in November to wrestle Tara for a second time and also featured in the annual Christmas ShopTNA commercial featuring the Knockouts. Considering the rotation of matches concerning women in TNA is running thin and she has already accomplished a great deal in OVW, a more permanent move to the Impact Zone may be the next logical step.

Onto OVW, its cool to see Jessie winning the title after so long on being with OVW. Here’s hoping Taeler stays away from that belt now (go to TNA were you belong now) and she can fued with everyone else down there, like seeing Heidi Lovelace turn heel and fued against her since that woman is a BRILLIANT heel to me.

I do hope this is a sign TNA is finally calling her up.

As for the reason TNA KOs look thin is that they don’t use Sarita and Rostita. If they did that along with bringing in The Blossom Twins and Alpha Female, the division would be on solid ground and even have enough women to restore the KO Tag title.

@vonVile
Hopefully your right in that TNA will finally bring her up as a regular for TNA, but considering how they dont use all of their women, or rather, Rosita & Sarita, I think she’d get lost in the shuffle unless they somehow managed to put more focus on the women there.
But I will say, that Knockouts tag match on last thursday was a brilliant thing to see, that was better than any TNA or WWE out of all of 2012, here’s hoping they carry that momentum moving forward.
