Breaking news: Pro Wrestling: EVE title to be defended tonight (now with result)

We’ve just been informed that instead of the first Pro Wrestling: EVE championship title defence being against Jenny Sjodin on June 4 in Morecambe, Britani Knight will instead make her first defence tonight at a World Association of Wrestling show at the Project Nightclub in Norwich against 17-year old Liberty.

As announced on their Facebook, Pro Wrestling: EVE have stated:

Facing Britani Knight for the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship will be Liberty, dubbed ‘the next Britani Knight’ could we be seeing a new champion crowned tonight??

As we said after the title tournament weekend last month, Liberty has all the tools to be a star. Trained by Sweet Saraya, she was crisp and clean in her execution and has a shot at being another WAW female success.

As far as we’re aware, the title match on June 4 is still on, so Jenny Sjodin could be facing either Knight or Liberty on that night.

Britani’s been the subject of a lot of discussion about her future, so there’s always the chance that each of these title defences could be her last before possibly signing with WWE, though nothing’s been confirmed or denied. Either way, we’ll get to see the match, as there’s going to be an EVE camera on the scene, and may be part of a future DVD.

UPDATE: Britani Knight successfully defended her title by catching Liberty as she attempted to execute a cross-body and turned it into a Knight Light for the win.
